Compliance

Compliance & regulation:
how we protect you.

Financial advice in South Africa is closely regulated, and for good reason. Here’s how we meet our obligations, and what that means for you.

Our commitment

Treating Customers Fairly

Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) is the FSCA’s framework for how financial firms should treat clients. These are the six outcomes we commit to.

01

Fair treatment, always

Treating you fairly is built into how we work, not added on afterwards.

02

The right products for the right people

We only recommend products designed for someone in your situation.

03

Clear information

You get clear, timely information before, during and after you buy.

04

Suitable advice

Our advice is based on your needs, and we record why each recommendation suits you.

05

Products that perform as promised

We hold providers to what they’ve told you, and follow up if they don’t deliver.

06

No unreasonable barriers

Claiming, complaining, changing or cancelling should never be made difficult.

The laws we follow

The key legislation that governs our work, in plain language.

Governs how financial advice is given. It sets fit-and-proper requirements for advisers, a General Code of Conduct, record keeping and disclosure of fees and conflicts of interest.
Sets out how we collect, use, store and share your personal information, and your rights over it. See our privacy policy.
Requires us to verify your identity, keep records, and report suspicious transactions to help prevent money laundering and fraud.
The Long-term and Short-term Insurance Acts, and the rules made under them, protect you when you buy, hold and claim on an insurance policy.
Regulates medical aid schemes, including Prescribed Minimum Benefits and the role of accredited brokers.
Regulate retirement funds and unit trusts, including how your savings are managed and protected.

Conflicts of interest & how we're paid

We may earn commission from product providers, as regulated by law, or an advice fee that you agree to in writing beforehand.
